SITUATION
A customer with an innovative hand tool design required a method of retaining the tool plunger in a locked position.
SOLUTION
Through our ENGINOMICS ® team, Driv-Lok Inc. identified a means to accomplish locking the plunger in place. The solution was an engineered groove pin design- the pin is held in place by the groove, which provides an interference fi t when pressed into the application. The spring-loaded plunger is then held securely in place by the body of the pin when the plunger is retracted.
